A new upgrade is bringing even more useful capabilities to UBbox. Starting Tuesday, November 15, 2016, you’ll be able edit MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents directly in UBbox via a Web browser, which means you’ll no longer have to download documents to your device in order to edit them.

Daniel Heuskin (UB Student, Class of 2017) is originally from Long Island, NY. He is studying English at UB with aspirations to become a teacher or writer. In his free time, he enjoys playing bass guitar, doing nature photography, writing songs and reading.

And that’s not all. The new Box upgrade also enables real-time co-authoring, allowing multiple authors to collaborate on documents at the same time—useful for group assignments, collective study efforts, or remote cooperation with colleagues.

After sharing your document with others, you’ll be able to see all edits by fellow authors as they happen in real time. All changes will be saved automatically to UBbox.

Box Edit is still available for anyone who prefers to save documents to their desktop while backing up to Box.

If you have any questions about these new features, feel free to contact the UBIT Help Center at (716) 645-3542 or www.buffalo.edu/ubit/help.
