Windows 10.

Windows 10 was released on July 29, 2015…so, it’s time to go ahead and upgrade the old computer, right? If you’re using that device for classes or work with UB, we think you should wait.

UBIT will be testing software and services to verify Windows 10 compatibility. As a result, university systems and public sites will not be upgraded at this time.

UB will be looking at assessing the deployment of Windows 10 to the campus in the next few months. At this time, we highly recommend not to move to Windows 10 until all application capabilities have been tested. A status page of application and tools tested against Windows 10 will be posted within the next few weeks.

Already Have Windows 10?

If you’ve already upgraded or purchased a Windows 10 device, be sure to download the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection anti-virus and firewall (12.1.6). Staff, faculty and students can download this software and much more, including Microsoft Office, at no cost from UBIT.
