On January 12, 2016, Microsoft will end support for every version of Internet Explorer other than their most recent release. Internet Explorer 11 is the only version that will continue to receive security updates, technical support and compatibility fixes. Microsoft is encouraging customers to upgrade in order to experience a safer and faster browsing experience.
Computers running versions prior to Internet Explorer 11 after January 12 may be exposed to potential risks. Without browser security updates, your computer will be vulnerable to harmful viruses, spyware and other security risks, which can result in your personal information being stolen. Many software vendors no longer support older versions of Internet Explorer.
UBIT is not aware of any compatibility problems between IE 11 and UB applications. To avoid potential risks when using Internet Explorer, download IE 11 before January 12. Your computer may already be running Internet Explorer 11 if you have automatic updates turned on. If you don’t have updates running automatically, go to your computer’s Control Panel, select 'Windows Update,' and click 'Check for Updates.'
