What is Symantec Endpoint Protection?

Symantec Endpoint Protection is anti-virus and firewall software to protect your computer from Internet-based threats. It’s available to all current UB students, faculty and staff at no cost.

The anti-virus features protect your computer from viruses, worms, and Trojan horses in email, instant messages and other files. The firewall enhances online security by restricting access to hackers, malware and spyware and many Internet worms. In addition, the LiveUpdate feature keeps your computer security up-to-date automatically.

The latest version of the software (12.1.6306 for Windows, and 12.1.6168 for Mac and Linux) are now available in order to protect the UB community from the most recent and innovative cyber-attacks.

Does it work with Windows 10, or Linux?

UBIT has confirmed that Symantec Endpoint Protection will work with Windows 10 and is also available to download on Linux operating systems.
