Identity Finder software conducts a high-precision scan for personally identifiable information (PII), such as medical records, credit card numbers or social security numbers. Once the scan is finished, you can choose to either encrypt, quarantine, or shred the data altogether. The goal is to ensure that your sensitive information is not accessible should your computer ever be infected and fall into the wrong hands.

What's new?

Identity Finder 8.0, the latest version of the software, has undergone improvements to make it more consistent and easy to use. There are two new enhancements that provide better control over and insight into your personal information—Sensitive Data Watcher and Dynamic Classification. Sensitive Data Watcher monitors files in real time whereas Dynamic Classification automatically classifies sensitive data the moment a file is created or modified.

As for UB staff members and administrators, new features on the Administrative Console include:

  • Additional reports
  • More streamlined application interface
  • More dashboard information displayed
  • More refined security options offered
  • Ability to display more search progress information
  • HTML email support
  • Multiple ways to classify your information
