UB Login Phish - Do not click 'Case ID-X002FA verification' email

An email supposedly from the "Chief IT Instructor" claims that you must verify a requested a change of name associated with your email address.

Red flags: How you can tell it is a fake

 
  1. The email was not sent by an buffalo.edu email address.
  2. The URL is not a buffalo.edu web site.

I already clicked the links. What should I do?

  • If clicked on the link, but did not enter your password, please check that your computer security or anti virus program is on and up to date.

I did not click on the links. What should I do?

Delete the email.
