UB Login Phish - Do not click 'New Message' email

IT Security Alert

An email claiming to come from the University Of Buffalo claims there will be an urgent meeting and asks that you click on a link for details of the meeting.

Red flags: How you can tell it is a fake

Phishing email
  1. The email did not come from a University at Buffalo email address.    
  2. Poor grammar/spelling was used.
  3. Hovering on the link shows it goes to a non BUFFALO.EDU website.

I already clicked the links. What should I do?

  • If clicked on the link, but did not enter your password, please check that your computer security or anti virus program is on and up to date.

I did not click on the links. What should I do?

Delete the email.
