Faculty Phish 03-Jan-2016

An email claiming to be from a faculty member of another university is requesting that you send them an article for research purposes. The article link takes you to a phishing website that is a clone of UB's login page.

Red flags: How you can tell it is a fake

  1. Hovering on the link shows it goes to a non BUFFALO.EDU website

I already clicked the links. What should I do?

  • If clicked on the link, but did not enter your password, please check that your computer security or anti virus program is on and up to date.

I did not click on the links. What should I do?

Delete the email.
