UB offers temporary Wi-Fi access to provide seamless, anywhere communications for students, faculty and staff . This just-in-time service provides outdoor access to the public Internet and the university network from UB’s north and south campuses. It is ideal for outdoor events that require connectivity to university resources for one week or less.
This solution uses a point-to-point microwave radio solution
from Exalt using Exalt
ExtendAir All-Outdoor 5Ghz Microwave System.
This service assumes clear line of sight between radios. Weather conditions, environmental obstructions and other local factors may cause interference and influence the suitability of a successful link.
A one-time fee will be applied to your university account per
rental. The requestor is liable for the full equipment replacement
costs if the equipment is not returned in an acceptable
condition.
Customers must supply power for the network electronics.
