About Us

Donna Loliger and Kerri Jasen at CIT Ignite 2013

The CIT Professional Development Team was formed in 2011 to identify and provide training opportunities for staff, and to enrich the experience of working at UB.

Our Charge

Our charge is to provide guidance to CIT senior leadership on ways to effectively and efficiently support professional development within CIT. Possible considerations include (but are not limited to), workshops, outside speakers, internal speakers, Ignite competitions, 3E like proposal activities, SUNY IT Exchange Meetings and more. Our activities are not intended to replace normal staff development activities and the management of professional development that already occurs within each unit. It is meant to supplement that as well as encourage cross unit development and collaboration. The committee reviews metrics to track the progress of professional development initiated under this program and the success of these activities in terms of improving cross-unit collaboration.

The CITPD team has identified the following 21st century competencies as our initial areas of focus:

  • achievement
  • big picture thinking
  • collaboration
  • communication
  • creativity
  • digital media literacy
  • problem solving
  • project management
  • teamwork

  • Kathleen Murphy, Chair (NCS)
  • Sue Ferry (CIOAO)
  • Kerri Jasen (EIS)
  • Donna Loliger (EAS)
  • Dennis Reed Jr. (ITPC)
  • Cathy Ullman (ISO)
