Spirion Enterprise (Managed)

Spirion (formerly Identity Finder) is a tool that finds personally identifiable information (PII), such as credit card numbers and Social Security Numbers, and assists in securing it from theft. It allows UB to comply with laws that regulate the data that we work with.

There are clients for standalone (unmonitored) computers, and a version that allows the computer client it is installed on to become a console-monitored computer.

Requesting Spirion Enterprise

Spirion Enterprise is managed through a Web console, and both Windows and Macintosh versions are available. To request Spirion Enterprise:

  1. Log into the UBIT Help Center Online
  2. Choose Self Service > Request a Service > Applications and Software (left hand side) > Endpoint Support Services > Select Spirion from the Service Name drop-down menu
  3. In the Brief Summary, enter Spirion
  4. In the ticket, in Additional Information provide:
    • Your department name. We will create a static and dynamic tag your department and provide your accounts with sufficient rights
    • The UBITNames of those that you want to have administrator access
    • The ITORG OU that is at the root of your managed clients
    • The date you need this set up by
