Enterprise Infrastructure Services Assistant

Provides general computer setup and support. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience with a technically advanced group involved in a wide variety of challenging software and hardware projects.

Title: Student Assistant

Student Assistant working hours are 20 hours per week during the fall/spring semester; 30-40 hours per week during breaks and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

Duties may include:

  • Answering Helpdesk Telephone Calls
  • Providing workstation and some networking support to approximately 1500 end-users
  • Troubleshooting end-user problems
  • Installing and maintaining a wide variety of software and hardware on the desktop
  • Providing one-on-one end-user training in the use of applications and operating systems as needed
  • Generating support documentation for installation and maintenance activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent telephone and problem solving skills
  • Work very well independently and in a team environment
  • Configure, deploy and support Microsoft Windows XP/Windows 7 (MAC and UNIX experience a plus)
  • A familiarity with Microsoft Office, TCP/IP, Networking, Internet Explorer, Firefox, FTP, Printers and Symantec is preferred
  • Undergraduate status required (Freshman or Sophomore preferred)

Compensation

Starting payrate is negotiable depending upon experience and qualifications.
