UBIT Leadership and Organization

UBIT refers to the holism of all computing and information technology at UB.  UB’s IT organization is an amalgam of one central, enterprise organization, CIT, and many school or division-level IT organizations, sometimes referred to as "distributed IT” which are devoted to the IT needs of their unit.

Computing and Information Technology (CIT), the enterprise organization, is responsible for building and supporting the foundational IT services and infrastructure for the university, including, for example, the university network, student information systems (the HUB), UBlearns, MyUB, research computing and university financial systems.

Distributed IT units (Nodes) are affiliated with various Colleges and Schools and Administrative units throughout the university. CIT and the Nodes collaborate closely to seamlessly provide IT resources and services throughout the university.

Information Technology development, management and support is informed and guided by several groups at UB. Members of the UB community are invited to bring issues and ideas to these groups.
