Jonathan A. Dandes

Jonathan A. Dandes was appointed President of Rich Baseball Operations on October 1, 2001. He joined Rich Products Corporation Food Services Division in June, 1986 as product manager and was soon appointed director of restaurant operations. He was named Vice President/General Manager of Stadium Services, Inc. in 1988, and Executive Vice President of the Rich Entertainment Group in 1996.

Rich Baseball Operations is comprised of Rich Products’ subsidiary companies including: Buffalo Bison Baseball, Northwest Arkansas Naturals Baseball, Jamestown Jammers Baseball, National Baseball Congress and Palm Beach National Golf & Country Club in Lake Worth, FL.

Dandes is Chair of the Buffalo/Niagara Partnership. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Buffalo-Niagara Enterprise and is a member of the Board of Directors.  He serves as Chair of Erie County Jewish Family Services and is Vice-Chair of the Buffalo Zoological Society. He is Vice-Chair of the Upstate New York Transplant Services Foundation, and a Director of the National Kidney Foundation.  He currently serves on the Board of the Buffalo/Niagara Convention Center & Visitors Bureau and is Chairman of the Buffalo/Niagara Sports Commission.  He is currently an adjunct Professor at Niagara University in the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management and teaches in the University’s Sport Management Program. He is the past chair of the Buffalo/Niagara Convention and Visitors Bureau. He is a past director of the Amherst Junior Football League and Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball.

Dandes is an alumnus of the University at Buffalo and a past president of its Alumni Board. He has served as president of the New York State Restaurant Association and is a member of La Chaine des Rotisseurs, Les Amis du Vin, National Association of Concessionaires, and Stadium Managers Association.

Dandes also serves on the Board of the Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation, and 100 Club of Buffalo.  He is Chair of the Erie County Sheriff’s 21st Century Foundation.

In August of 1994, Dandes was appointed to the Council of the University at Buffalo for a five-year term by then Governor Mario Cuomo. Governor George Pataki reappointed Dandes to a seven-year term to the University at Buffalo Council in August, 1999.   He was reappointed again by Governor Pataki in December 2006 for a third 7-year term.  He is a past Trustee of the Nichols School in Buffalo, New York.  Dandes is a Director of the Buffalo Public Schools Foundation.

Dandes is a certified Foodservice Management Professional (1994), as designated by the National Restaurant Association.  In 2003, he graduated from the Harvard Business School Management Development Program.

Dandes lives in East Amherst, NY with his wife Marcy.  Their son Leo, is a third year Law Student at the University of Buffalo School of Law.  Their daughter Arin, is a 2009 graduate of U/B, with a BFA in Musical Theatre.
