UB's Course Evaluation System provides feedback from students about your course but how can this data be used to improve teaching and learning?

This workshop will provide faculty with the opportunity to access their own data from the Course Evaluation System, examine it through a critical lens and then use the feedback to make changes to their course curriculum and teaching to improve student learning. Participants will learn techniques for processing both quantitative and qualitative feedback and for providing a record of that process to their programs and their students.

Specific techniques for addressing areas common to low scoring course evaluation questions will also be covered, as well as a review of general resources, both on-campus and online, that are available to faculty.

Learning objectives

  • Access and understand course evaluation reports
  • Identify areas of strengths and areas of weakness from the course evaluation feedback
  • Develop a plan for improvements to course curriculum and/or potential professional development and resource needs that are directly related to course evaluation feedback and teaching
  • Share and communicate course and teaching changes and results with students and departments
