UBCCC is proud to announce that Kathi James (NC Center Director) has been selected by the SUNY Early Care and Education Leaders (SEEL) to be this year’s recipient of the Marcia Brady Excellence in Child Care Award!
The Brady Award was created to celebrate the administrators, center staff and community partners who have made significant achievements in the improvement and advancement of early care and education within the SUNY Child Care Community. Kathi will be recognized at the 2016 SUNY Early Care & Education Conference this June in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Directors and interested teachers from UBCCC attend this 3-day conference yearly, where they network and attend workshops related to the field of Early Childhood Education. This year’s conference was held June 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Kathi has been a part of the UBCCC family since 1999, in almost every conceivable role in the center. She started as an infant teacher before moving into Administrative roles: Assistant Director, Administrative Assistant, Program Coordinator and now Director. Her colleagues often look to her as a mentor and for support. We thank Kathi for all that she has contributed to both centers; we are lucky to have you!
In the community, Kathi is a member of the AEYC of WNY Board of Directors, the ECC Early Childhood Advisory Board, and the Infancy Leadership Circle of WNY. She is also a member of NAEYC, the National Coalition of Campus Children's Centers, and the SUNY Early Care and Education Leaders.
In conclusion, we would like to enthusiastically applaud Kathi for her wealth of knowledge with regards to the early childhood field, as well as her commitment to excellence and promoting the mission of UBCCC in the community. She certainly deserves this recognition from her peers.
Please join us in congratulating Kathi!
