NEW ORLEANS, La. – The State University of New York, Buffalo men's cross country team earned a program-best ranking of 11th in week five of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Northeast Region poll announced Monday. The squad most recently ranked 14th in the week four poll.

TOLEDO, OH - The State University of New York, Buffalo women’s soccer team (10-2-3, 6-0-2 MAC) stayed hot on Sunday afternoon as they extended their program record unbeaten streak in MAC play to eight matches with a 3-0 win at Toledo. Celina Carrero was a force for the Bulls all afternoon long, netting a career-best two goals in the victory.

NEW HAVEN, CT – The State University of New York, Buffalo women's tennis team concluded USTA/ITA Northeast Region competition Sunday at Yale's Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center. Freshman Tanja Stojanovska suffered a loss in the main draw round of 32, while sophomore Margarita Kotok picked up a pair of consolation victories to win her bracket.

The University at Buffalo men’s and women’s swimming teams competed at Cornell on Saturday afternoon. Ivy League rules prevent Cornell from competing in a scored event this early in the season, so it counted as a scrimmage for both teams.

PRINCETON, NJ – The State University of New York, Buffalo cross country teams competed Saturday at the Princeton Invitational and the Canisius Alumni Classic. The Bulls top seven raced to a 15th-place finish out of 37 teams in the men's championship race at Princeton, while the women placed 13th out of 35 squads.

BOWLING GREEN, OH - The State University of New York, Buffalo men’s soccer team (3-8-2, 0-0-2 MAC) picked up their second straight tie in conference action on Saturday night on the road at Bowling Green, 1-1. With the tie, UB is now 3-8-2 overall and 0-0-2 in the MAC.

The State University of New York, Buffalo volleyball team took it to four sets with the top team in the Mid-American Conference, but UB fell 3-1 to Northern Illinois on Saturday evening. The loss drops the Bulls to 13-9 and 3-5 in MAC play, while NIU continues to be undefeated in the MAC at 8-0.

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo cross country and track & field director and head coach Vicki Mitchell was inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame on Thursday evening. Mitchell joined 11 other athletes, coaches and administrators in the class of 2014.

PLEASANT, MI - The State University of New York, Buffalo women’s soccer team (9-2-3, 5-0-2 MAC) extended their program record unbeaten Mid-American Conference start to seven games as they defeated the Central Michigan Chippewas by the score of 1-0 on Friday afternoon on the road. The win gives UB their longest unbeaten streak, seven, since 1998 when the Bulls were unbeaten for 12 contests to start the season.

The State University of New York, Buffalo volleyball team lost 3-1 to Western Michigan on Friday evening, beginning a two-match road swing through the west coast of the conference. The Bulls, who were playing their fourth road match in its last five contests, are now 13-8 on the year and 3-4 in conference play.

EASTON, PA - The State University of New York, Buffalo men’s soccer team (3-8-1, 0-0-1 MAC) saw one of their strongest efforts of the season go to the way side as they dropped a non-conference match at Lafayette on Tuesday night, 1-0. The Leopards picked up the game-winning tally in the final minute of regulation.

Junior Megan Lipski has been named the MAC East Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. Lipski had one of her best overall weekends as a Bull and she becomes the second different UB player to pick up the weekly honor and the third time this year a Bull has been named Player of the Week.

In anticipation for the upcoming 2014-15 basketball season, the State University of New York, Buffalo Division of Athletics will be holding a Beat The Clock promotion this Friday, October 17. This event will be followed by Bulls Madness, where fans will have their first chance to meet this year’s men’s and women’s basketball teams.

BUFFALO, NY – The State University of New York, Buffalo women’s soccer team (8-2-3, 4-0-2 MAC) stayed unbeaten in Mid-American Conference play on Sunday afternoon as they battled the Western Michigan Broncos to a 1-1 draw at UB Stadium. With the tie, UB now sits in first place in the MAC east standings with 14 points and set a program record for the best start in MAC play, 4-0-2.

The State University of New York, Buffalo women’s rowing team continued its Fall season by competing at the Head of the Housatonic over the weekend. The Bulls entered six boats against some of the best competition from New York and New England.

The University at Buffalo women's tennis team placed two student-athletes on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, the league office announced on Tuesday morning. Making the squad were seniors Tanvi Shah and Marta Stoyanova. For Shah, this is the second time she has been named to the Academic All-MAC team, while the honor for Stoyanova is her first.

Freshman Russell Cicerone of the UB men's soccer team was named the National Premier Soccer League's National Player of the Week for the period ending May 18. Currently a starter for FC Buffalo, Cicerone earned his club the first weekly honor in its all-time history in the national league.

University at Buffalo softball senior Heather Ryder has agreed to continue her softball career as she will be playing for the Hoofddorp Pioniers in the Netherlands. The Hoofddorp Pioniers are part of the Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Federation.
