The University at Buffalo softball team won its first Mid-American Conference game of the season on Sunday morning as the Bulls defeated Ball State, 7-4. The game was played at Dobson Field at D’Youville College.

The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team had an impressive performance against their Ivy League foes from Harvard on Saturday, but the Bulls fell just short, 4-3.

HUNTSVILLE, TX – The University at Buffalo baseball team (6-14, 0-0 MAC) was able to collect the series winning victory on Saturday afternoon on the road at Sam Houston State, 10-4. The Bulls collected a pair of wins on the weekend against one of the hottest teams in the country as the Bearkats entered the weekend winning 14 of their last 15 games. UB also handed the Bearkats just their seventh and eighth home losses in their last 38 games at Don Sanders Stadium.

HUNTSVILLE, TX – The University at Buffalo baseball team dropped the second game of a three-game series to the Sam Houston State Bearkats on Friday afternoon by the score of 20-5. With the loss, the Bulls fall to 5-14 on the season while Sam Houston improves to 17-6 overall.

The University at Buffalo softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader to Ball State in the Mid-American Conference opener for both schools. The games were played at Dobson Field at D’Youville College.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track and field team kicks off their outdoor season this Friday and Saturday at the Fred Harvey Invitational in Richmond, VA. The Bulls are coming off a very successful indoor season that saw six individual MAC Champions and one relay MAC Champion. Joshua Gali, a senior for the Bulls, was named MAC Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the 2017 Indoor MAC Championships.

The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team ended its Spring Break trip with a 6-1 loss to a red-hot Charleston Southern team, who won their 10th straight match on Thursday afternoon. The Bulls have now completed their non-conference season with a 6-5 record.

HUNTSVILLE, TX – The University at Buffalo baseball team (5-13, 0-0 MAC) snapped their 10-game losing streak on Thursday night on the road at Sam Houston State as they downed the Bearkats 5-3. Senior right-handed pitcher Alec Tuohy collected his fourth win of the season as he struck out a season-high nine batters in the victory.

Senior Blake Hamilton has been named to the NABC All-District 14 First Team, the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced on Wednesday morning. District 14 is comprised of the entire Mid-American Conference.

The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team won the doubles point on Wednesday afternoon, but lost a tough 4-3 match to the College of Charleston. The Cougars picked up their 12th win of the season, while the Bulls fell to 6-4.

The University at Buffalo softball team pounded out 13 runs in the second game on Wednesday afternoon as the Bulls split a doubleheader with Mount St. Mary’s. It was a season-high in runs for the Bulls as they won 13-0 in game two. The Mountaineers won the first game 5-3.

CLEVELAND, OH – The Mid-American Conference announced the Academic All-MAC Teams for the men’s and women’s indoor track and field season. Buffalo led the way for the men with 12 athletes named to the team. The women’s track and field team placed eighteen athletes on the Academic All-MAC team.

EDINBURG, TX – The University at Buffalo baseball team was not able to close out the series against the UTRGV Vaqueros on Monday night with a win as the home team downed the Bulls 4-2. With the loss, the Bulls fall to 4-13 on the season while UTRGV improves to 16-7.

EDINBURG, TX – The UTRGV Vaqueros handed the University at Buffalo Bulls baseball team their ninth straight loss on Sunday afternoon by the score of 6-4. The Bulls fall to 4-12 on the season while the Vaqueros are now 15-7.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Two athletes from the University at Buffalo women’s swimming and diving team competed in multiple events at the 2017 NCAA Championships. Abbey Croce competed in the one- and three-meter dive; while Megan Burns competed in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Free.

The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team improved to 2-0 in the MAC for the first time since the 2012-13 season on Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over Northern Illinois. The Bulls are now 7-4 on the season and 2-0 in league play.

The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team began its Mid-American Conference season on a high note Friday afternoon as the Bulls defeated Binghamton, 6-1. Buffalo improves to 6-4 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

Bryan Lantry came painfully close to becoming just the second University at Buffalo Division I Wrestling All-American, but lost an overtime heartbreaker to ninth-ranked Scotty Parker of Lehigh at the NCAA Championships in St. Louis on Friday night. The loss ended the Bulls run at the NCAAs.

BUFFALO, NY – The defending Mid-American Conference champion University at Buffalo women’s basketball team has been picked to finish second in the MAC East division, as announced by the league on Thursday afternoon. The Bulls earned three first-place votes in the preseason Coaches’ Poll while also earning one vote to win the regular season championship and one vote to win the conference tournament.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team (7-7-5, 4-4-3 MAC) was able to clinch their third straight trip to the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon as they handed the Akron Zips a 1-0 defeat at UB Stadium. The Bulls totally controlled the tempo of the match as Celina Carrero netted the game-winner, her first this season.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team will look to lock up a Mid-American Conference Tournament spot on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 pm as they welcome the Akron Zips to UB Stadium in both teams regular season finale. With a win or a draw, the Bulls will secure their third straight trip to the conference tournament.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team hits the water again on Friday, October 28th. The Bulls will be traveling to Pittsburgh, PA for a 5:00 pm meet. Last Saturday, the Bulls were visited by the Cornell Bears in a non-scoring match. The Bulls performance proved that this will be an exciting season.

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo’s men’s and women’s cross country teams are getting ready to compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday, October 29th in Kent, OH. Both teams are looking to improve on last year’s results. In 2015, the men took away a sixth place finish while the women took home a fifth place finish.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team (6-7-5, 3-4-3 MAC) played to their third straight draw on Senior Day at UB Stadium on Sunday. The Bulls and Central Michigan CHippewas drew even, 1-1. Carissima Cutrona netted the lone UB goal as she has now notched a team-high 10 goals on the year.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team had their first meet of the season on Saturday against the Cornell Bears. The event was a non-scoring meet, but Buffalo proved an impressive showing in both the pool and the diving well.

Turnovers cost the University at Buffalo football team in a 44-7 loss to Northern Illinois at Huskie Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies were able to capitalize on Buffalo’s four first-half turnovers to build a 31-7 lead at the half and never looked back. It was a disappointing afternoon for a team that had prided itself on taking care of the football – committing only three turnovers in the previous five games.

BUFFALO, NY – Senior captain Russell Cicerone continued his home prowess on Friday night as he buried the game-tying goal with under a minute remaining in regulation to help lead the University at Buffalo men’s soccer team (9-3-2, 1-1-1 MAC) to a 1-1 draw with Western Michigan. With his game-tying goal, Cicerone now has 12 goals on the year and he notched his 101st career point, becoming just the second UB player and third in MAC history to do so.
