The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team won five of the six singles matches on Sunday against Brown, defeating the Bears, 5-2. The victory was UB’s first of the spring season as they wrapped up their three-match tour of the Ivy League this week.

BUFFALO, NY – Behind a season-high 29 points from senior JoAnna Smith, the University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (14-4, 4-3 MAC) earned their third straight MAC victory on Saturday afternoon against the Central Michigan Chippewas at Alumni Arena, 67-56. The Bulls improved to 9-1 at Alumni Arena this season while handing the Chippewas their first conference loss of the season.

OXFORD, OH – The University at Buffalo men’s swimming and diving team traveled to Oxford, OH to take on the Miami (OH) Redhawks in a Conference match-up. The Bulls defeated Miami (OH) with a 177-119 score. The Bulls placed first in all but two swimming events, and second through fourth on both diving boards.

The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team allowed its fewest points in a MAC game since 2014 as UB came from behind for a 66-54 victory over Western Michigan, Saturday afternoon inside Alumni Arena. UB allowed just 54 points, including only 21 in the second half, the fewest in league play since allowing just 48 to Ball State on Feb. 5, 2014.

The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team played its second straight Ivy League opponent on Saturday, falling just short at Yale, 4-3. For the second straight match, the Bulls took the doubles point from their opponent.

ITHACA, NY – The University at Buffalo’s track and field team headed to Ithaca this Saturday to compete in the Upstate Challenge. The Bulls had an outstanding performance, with both the men and the women placing second overall; the men with 112 points and the women with 131 points. They both placed second behind the Cornell Bears.

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team (13-4, 3-3 MAC) looks to extend their winning streak to three on Saturday afternoon as they welcome the Central Michigan Chippewas to Alumni Arena. Tip is set for 12:00 pm and will air live on Time Warner Cable Sports with Howard Simon and Amy Audibert on the call.

The Bulls come back to Alumni Arena on Saturday afternoon when they host Western Michigan. UB is looking to build on its success from Tuesday night’s win at Kent State. The Bulls have won three straight meetings against Western Michigan at Alumni Arena.

The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team opened their spring schedule on Thursday, falling 6-1 to Cornell. The Bulls picked up the doubles point, earning a pair of wins in doubles play.

BOWLING GREEN, OH – Behind another strong defensive effort, the University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (13-4, 3-3 MAC) collected their second straight Mid-American Conference road victory on Wednesday night as they handed the Bowling Green Falcons the 61-50 loss at the Stroh Center. Freshman Theresa Onwuka collected her third double-double in four career starts on Wednesday night as she finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team are traveling for conference meets this Friday and Saturday. The women will kick off the weekend on Friday with a meet in Bowling Green, while the men will travel to Miami (OH) on Saturday. The Bulls are coming off a very successful weekend, when swimming hosted Niagara, and the diving team hosted the UB Diving Invitational which featured UMass, UConn, Ohio University, and Niagara’s diving teams.

BUFFALO, NY – After a successful first meet of the 2016-2017 season, the track and field team are preparing to travel to Ithaca, NY for the Upstate Challenge. The meet is held on Saturday, January 21st at 10:00 am.

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team (12-4, 2-3 MAC) will look to win their second straight road MAC game as they head to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons on Wednesday night. The Bulls are coming off of a 68-51 win over Miami on the road Saturday and will be looking to level their MAC mark at 3-3 with a victory.

BUFFALO, NY – Former University at Buffalo men’s soccer standout Russell Cicerone was selected by the Portland Timbers in the Fourth Round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday afternoon. Being selected 67th overall, Cicerone becomes the first UB player in program history to be selected in the MLS draft.

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo track and field senior, Kaishaun Cathey, was named Mid-American Conference Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. This honor came after the first meet of the season, when Cathey broke the school record and is now ranked number one in the MAC in the triple jump.

The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team ended Tuesday night’s game on a 23-5 run as the Bulls picked up their seventh straight victory over Kent State, 82-69. The win was also Buffalo’s fourth straight at the M.A.C Center, the first MAC team to do that since Ohio (1991-95). The victory improves UB’s record to 8-10 and 2-3 in league play.

The Bulls return to the road Tuesday night when they face the Kent State Golden Flashes in only their second meeting against a MAC East school. The Bulls have had their fair share of success against the Golden Flashes, winning six straight, including the last three at Kent State. UB is looking to become just the third different MAC program to ever win at least four straight at Kent State (Ohio, Toledo).

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s diving team finished up their UB Diving Invitational today with the platform dives. The women all placed in the Top-Five; while the men placed first through fourth.

BUFFALO, NY – The UB Diving Invitational has completed day two of its three-day event. The men performed well on the three-meter dive, placing three in the Top-Five. The women were able to place two in the Top-Five on the one-meter dive.

OXFORD, OH - Behind a pair of double-doubles from the freshman duo of Summer Hemphill and Theresa Onwuka, the University at Buffalo women?s basketball team (12-4, 2-3 MAC) snapped their three game losing streak on Saturday afternoon at Miami as they handed the RedHawks the 68-51 loss. Hemphill finished off her second career double-double with a career-high 15 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks while Onwuka closed out her second double-double in three games with a career-best 16 points and 11 rebounds in 36 minutes.

The visiting Ball State Cardinals went on a 19-7 run over the final five minutes on Saturday afternoon as the Cardinals defeated the University at Buffalo men’s basketball team, 92-77. The loss spoiled a career day from senior David Kadiri, who recorded his first double-double with career highs of 23 points and 11 rebounds.

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The University at Buffalo track and field team traveled to Staten Island on Saturday to participate in the Great Dane Invitational, hosted by University of Albany. The Bulls had a stellar performance, will several athletes marking new personal-records. The men had a repeat of last year, and took home a third place finish; while the women took away fourth. The primary goal for this competition was to compete and score points while getting the first meet under their belt.

BUFFALO, NY – The defending Mid-American Conference champion University at Buffalo women’s basketball team has been picked to finish second in the MAC East division, as announced by the league on Thursday afternoon. The Bulls earned three first-place votes in the preseason Coaches’ Poll while also earning one vote to win the regular season championship and one vote to win the conference tournament.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team (7-7-5, 4-4-3 MAC) was able to clinch their third straight trip to the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon as they handed the Akron Zips a 1-0 defeat at UB Stadium. The Bulls totally controlled the tempo of the match as Celina Carrero netted the game-winner, her first this season.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team will look to lock up a Mid-American Conference Tournament spot on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 pm as they welcome the Akron Zips to UB Stadium in both teams regular season finale. With a win or a draw, the Bulls will secure their third straight trip to the conference tournament.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team hits the water again on Friday, October 28th. The Bulls will be traveling to Pittsburgh, PA for a 5:00 pm meet. Last Saturday, the Bulls were visited by the Cornell Bears in a non-scoring match. The Bulls performance proved that this will be an exciting season.

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo’s men’s and women’s cross country teams are getting ready to compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday, October 29th in Kent, OH. Both teams are looking to improve on last year’s results. In 2015, the men took away a sixth place finish while the women took home a fifth place finish.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team (6-7-5, 3-4-3 MAC) played to their third straight draw on Senior Day at UB Stadium on Sunday. The Bulls and Central Michigan CHippewas drew even, 1-1. Carissima Cutrona netted the lone UB goal as she has now notched a team-high 10 goals on the year.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team had their first meet of the season on Saturday against the Cornell Bears. The event was a non-scoring meet, but Buffalo proved an impressive showing in both the pool and the diving well.

Turnovers cost the University at Buffalo football team in a 44-7 loss to Northern Illinois at Huskie Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies were able to capitalize on Buffalo’s four first-half turnovers to build a 31-7 lead at the half and never looked back. It was a disappointing afternoon for a team that had prided itself on taking care of the football – committing only three turnovers in the previous five games.

Freshman Hao Sheng Koay had an impressive day on Saturday as he picked up a pair of singles victories to move into the round of 16 at the ITA Northeast Regionals. Koay also joined teammate Ethan Nittolo in doubles and moved into the round of 16 there as well.

BUFFALO, NY – Senior captain Russell Cicerone continued his home prowess on Friday night as he buried the game-tying goal with under a minute remaining in regulation to help lead the University at Buffalo men’s soccer team (9-3-2, 1-1-1 MAC) to a 1-1 draw with Western Michigan. With his game-tying goal, Cicerone now has 12 goals on the year and he notched his 101st career point, becoming just the second UB player and third in MAC history to do so.
