University at Buffalo center James O’Hagan was named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch List, the Rimington Trophy Committee announced on Monday. The award is giving annually to the nation's top center. This is the second straight year UB's junior center has been named to the watch list.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo track and field program qualified for NCAA East Preliminaries in 13 individual events and one relay event. The competition is set to begin on Thursday, May 25 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY.

Five members of the University at Buffalo football team have been named to the Athlon Sports 2017 Preseason All-MAC team, the publication announced on Monday. James O’Hagan and Khalil Hodge were named to the second team, while Brandon Manosalvas, Chris Ford and Jarrett Franklin were named to the fourth team.

KALAMAZOO, MI – The University at Buffalo baseball team (17-34, 8-16 MAC) dropped a pair of Mid-American Conference games to the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls fell 7-2 in the first game of the afternoon and 7-3 in the second game as UB wasn’t able to secure a spot in the upcoming MAC Tournament.

It is graduation weekend at the University at Buffalo and 92 student-athletes will cross the stage to receive their diplomas. Every team had at least one graduate with the track and field team leading the way with 21 graduates.

Season tickets for the 2017 University at Buffalo football season are on sale now and start as low as $66. This year's home schedule includes six games, including Florida Atlantic, coached by Lane Kiffin, and defending Mid-American Conference champions and Cotton Bowl participant Western Michigan.

KALAMAZOO, MI – The University at Buffalo baseball team (17-32, 8-14 MAC) wasn’t able to hang onto the lead in the bottom of the ninth inning on Thursday afternoon on the road at Western Michigan as the Broncos provided a walk-off RBI single to collect the 6-5 win. The Bulls struggled all afternoon long with runners on base as they left 16 runners on in the loss.

Fresh off leading the Bulls to their second ever NCAA Tournament appearance and a perfect record in Mid-American Conference play, University at Buffalo men’s tennis head coach Lee Nickell has been named the Wilson/ITA Northeast Region Coach of the Year.

University at Buffalo women’s tennis assistant coach Smaranda Stan has been named the ITA Northeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year, the organization announced late Monday. Stan helped guide the Bulls to their second MAC Title and NCAA appearance in school history.

BUFFALO, NY – It was a fitting end to the final home game at Amherst Audobon Field in program history for the University at Buffalo baseball team (17-31, 8-13 MAC) on Tuesday afternoon as senior second baseman Brian Dudek connected on a walk-off solo home run to right field in the 10th inning to give UB the 10-9 come-from-behind win over cross-town rival Niagara. The walk-off win for the Bulls was their first of the season and it marked Dudek's first career walk-off home run.

Tony Miller, a member of the University at Buffalo men’s tennis program, was named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team on Monday, the league announced. A senior communication major, Miller has a 3.246 grade point average.

After a successful rookie minicamp in early May, former University at Buffalo offensive lineman Roubbens Joseph has signed a free agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced on Monday. Joseph is the third Bull from the class of 2016 to sign with an NFL team this offseason, joining Mason Schreck who was drafted b y the Cincinnati Bengals and Jordan Johnson who was an undrafted free agent signee of the Buffalo Bills.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo baseball team (16-33, 8-13 MAC) dropped their third straight MAC game to the Ohio Bobcats on a rain-filled Sunday afternoon at Audobon Field. The Bobcats were able to score three unearned runs en route to the series sweep of the Bulls on Senior Day for Buffalo.

The University at Buffalo women’s rowing team finished sixth at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships Sunday morning on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, NJ. Northeastern took home the conference title for the fourth straight year.

KALAMAZOO, MI – The University at Buffalo track and field team had an outstanding appearance at the 2017 Outdoor Mid-American Conference Championships. Several Bulls found their way to the podium, and the men finished third overall, while the women finished ninth overall.

The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team put up a valiant effort against the number two ranked team in the nation on Saturday afternoon, but the Ohio State Buckeyes came away with a 4-0 win over the Bulls in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. The loss was UB’s first in over a month.

The University at Buffalo football team has scheduled a home-and-home series with Liberty University, the teams announced on Saturday. Buffalo will travel to Liberty in 2019 with the Bulls host the Flames in 2023.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo baseball team (16-30, 8-12 MAC) fell on Saturday afternoon at Audobon Field to the Ohio Bobcats by the score of 12-1. The Bobcats were able to put the game away in the seventh inning as they put up nine runs and sent 15 batters to the plate.

KALAMAZOO, MI – The University at Buffalo track and field team had another outstanding day at the 2017 Outdoor Mid-American Conference Championships. The Bulls brought home two medals and broke two school records at the competition.

The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team went toe-to-toe with #13 Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Championships at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. The Bulls lost to the SEC Champion, 4-0, but the final score was no indication of how well UB played.

The NCAA released annual Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) data on Thursday afternoon and nine UB programs had perfect single-year rates for 2015-16, while men’s tennis continues to lead the charge with a perfect four-year rate.

BUFFALO, NY – The defending Mid-American Conference champion University at Buffalo women’s basketball team has been picked to finish second in the MAC East division, as announced by the league on Thursday afternoon. The Bulls earned three first-place votes in the preseason Coaches’ Poll while also earning one vote to win the regular season championship and one vote to win the conference tournament.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team (7-7-5, 4-4-3 MAC) was able to clinch their third straight trip to the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon as they handed the Akron Zips a 1-0 defeat at UB Stadium. The Bulls totally controlled the tempo of the match as Celina Carrero netted the game-winner, her first this season.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team will look to lock up a Mid-American Conference Tournament spot on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 pm as they welcome the Akron Zips to UB Stadium in both teams regular season finale. With a win or a draw, the Bulls will secure their third straight trip to the conference tournament.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team hits the water again on Friday, October 28th. The Bulls will be traveling to Pittsburgh, PA for a 5:00 pm meet. Last Saturday, the Bulls were visited by the Cornell Bears in a non-scoring match. The Bulls performance proved that this will be an exciting season.

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo’s men’s and women’s cross country teams are getting ready to compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday, October 29th in Kent, OH. Both teams are looking to improve on last year’s results. In 2015, the men took away a sixth place finish while the women took home a fifth place finish.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team (6-7-5, 3-4-3 MAC) played to their third straight draw on Senior Day at UB Stadium on Sunday. The Bulls and Central Michigan CHippewas drew even, 1-1. Carissima Cutrona netted the lone UB goal as she has now notched a team-high 10 goals on the year.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team had their first meet of the season on Saturday against the Cornell Bears. The event was a non-scoring meet, but Buffalo proved an impressive showing in both the pool and the diving well.

Turnovers cost the University at Buffalo football team in a 44-7 loss to Northern Illinois at Huskie Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies were able to capitalize on Buffalo’s four first-half turnovers to build a 31-7 lead at the half and never looked back. It was a disappointing afternoon for a team that had prided itself on taking care of the football – committing only three turnovers in the previous five games.

Freshman Hao Sheng Koay had an impressive day on Saturday as he picked up a pair of singles victories to move into the round of 16 at the ITA Northeast Regionals. Koay also joined teammate Ethan Nittolo in doubles and moved into the round of 16 there as well.

BUFFALO, NY – Senior captain Russell Cicerone continued his home prowess on Friday night as he buried the game-tying goal with under a minute remaining in regulation to help lead the University at Buffalo men’s soccer team (9-3-2, 1-1-1 MAC) to a 1-1 draw with Western Michigan. With his game-tying goal, Cicerone now has 12 goals on the year and he notched his 101st career point, becoming just the second UB player and third in MAC history to do so.
