The University at Buffalo wrestling team will host Cornell on Monday night at the UB Center for the Arts in what is being called “Mayhem on the Mainstage.” It marks the first time a wrestling match will be held in the campus’ theatrical venue.

OLEAN, NY – Behind a near triple-double from junior Cierra Dillard, the University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (8-1, 0-0 MAC) earned their fourth straight win on Friday night as they ran away from the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 76-59. Dillard finished off her first career double-double as she netted 14 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and three steals across 33 minutes of work. The win at St. Bonaventure was UB’s second win of all-time inside the Reilly Center and first as a division I program.

BUFFALO, NY - Riding a three-game winning streak, the University at Buffalo women's basketball team (7-1, 0-0 MAC) returns to the road on Friday night as they head to Olean, NY to take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies in a Big 4 matchup. The Bulls and Bonnies will tip at 7:00 pm on Friday night inside the Reilly Center.

The Bulls look for their third straight win on Saturday afternoon when UB hosts Robert Morris at Alumni Arena.  Buffalo has yet to win three straight games this season.  Robert Morris is also looking to win its third straight and for its seventh win in its last eight contests.

University at Buffalo wrestler Brett Perry was named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week on Wednesday, the league announced.

With the holiday season underway, the University at Buffalo Division of Athletics and its student-athletes took part in its annual Adopt-a-Family charity event.

The University at Buffalo place 11 football players on the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team, the league announced on Wednesday. It was the football team’s most Academic All-MAC selections in school history.

The University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, has earned the NCAA and Minority Opportunities Athletic Association’s 2018 Award for Diversity and Inclusion. The school will receive the honor in January at the NCAA Convention in Indianapolis.

The University at Buffalo wrestling team turned a 15-9 deficit into a 16-15 victory at Kent State on Sunday afternoon. The Bulls have now started 2-0 in Mid-American Conference competition for the first time since the 1999-00 season.

NEW YORK, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (7-1, 0-0 MAC) was able to escape Columbia with a victory on Saturday afternoon thanks to Brittany Morrison who netted the game-winning layup at the buzzer as UB downed the Lions, 65-63. Senior center Cassie Oursler had a career game for the Bulls as she netted career-bests in points with 26 and rebounds with 11 while going 11-for-18 from the floor.

The University at Buffalo men’s basketball team opened the game on a 20-2 run and never looked back as the Bulls defeated Central Penn, 88-54, Saturday afternoon at Alumni Arena. All 11 Bulls who saw action scored in the contest as UB improved to 6-3 on the year.

The Bulls begin a two-game homestand on Saturday afternoon when they host Central Penn out of the USCAA.  Buffalo has won 13 straight games against non Division-I competition with their last loss coming against Brooklyn on Dec. 28, 1991.

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team (6-1, 0-0 MAC) will open up a five-game road trip on Saturday afternoon in the Big Apple as they take on the Columbia Lions. Tip on Saturday inside Francis S. Levien Gymnasium in NYC is set for 2:00 pm and will air live on the Ivy League Network.

The University at Buffalo wrestling team rallied to win their last three matches to tie Michigan State, 17-17, but total points gave the Spartans the 18-17 victory at Alumni Arena on Friday night.

BUFFALO, NY – Playing in their lone home game in the month of December, the University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (6-1, 0-0 MAC) was able to impress their home fans with a dominant 73-46 victory over Big 4 foe Canisius on Thursday night. Sophomore Summer Hemphill continued her strong play as she netted 14 points, six rebounds and five steals in UB’s fifth straight win over the Canisius Golden Griffins.

The University at Buffalo wrestling team will host Michigan State on Friday night at Alumni Arena. At halftime, the Bulls will honor members of the 1978 national championship team along with head coach Ed Michael. UB is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the school’s lone team national championship.

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's basketball team (4-1, 0-0 MAC) will welcome Big 4 foe Canisius to Alumni Arena on Thursday night for a non-conference showdown. This game will mark the lone December home game for the Bulls as they will close out 2017 with five straight on the road before returning home in January. The Bulls and Golden Griffins will tip at 7:00 pm and the game will air live on ESPN3 with Paul Peck and Amy Audibert on the call.

Behind a 30-point and 14-rebound performance from junior CJ Massinburg the University at Buffalo men’s basketball team led wire-to-wire in a 75-72 hard fought road victory at Delaware. In addition to Massinburg’s performance, sophomore Davonta Jordan had a career-high 20 points.

The Bulls will make their first ever trip to the University of Delaware on Wednesday night for their non-conference matchup with the Blue Hens.  UB leads the all-time series, 2-1, with Buffalo winning the most recent game back in 2015, 99-79. Delaware won the first ever meeting in 1948 and Buffalo won the second meeting, 54-38, on Dec. 13, 1950.

University at Buffalo head women’s tennis coach Kristen Maines has announced the promotion of longtime assistant coach Smaranda Stan McNerney to associate head coach. Stan is in her sixth season as a full-time coach and in her seventh season on staff after competing for the Bulls from 2005-09.

University at Buffalo men’s basketball junior guard CJ Massinburg has been the named the MAC East Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon. This is the first time in Massinburg’s career that he has earned conference player of the week honors.

TEMPE, AZ – The University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (5-1, 0-0 MAC) delivered a huge performance in the consolation game of the ASU Classic on Sunday afternoon as they ran past the UNLV Lady Rebels 80-53. The UB offense was able to shoot a season-best 50% from the floor while also outscoring UNLV 23-4 in the fast break.

Today we learned that we were not selected to play in a bowl game. While this was difficult news to take, it in no way tarnishes the fine season our football team had. We finished the year with six wins, the third-most as an FBS program. It was a huge accomplishment for our team.

AKRON, OH – The University at Buffalo women’s swimming & diving team had a strong weekend in Akron as they were able to claim second place with a team score of 1534.5, finishing just behind the hosts. UB improved on their third place finish at the event a season ago.

For nearly 38 minutes on Saturday afternoon the University at Buffalo men’s basketball team and St. Bonaventure played a contest so tight that neither team led by more than six, but an eight-minute stretch late in the second half was Buffalo’s undoing as the Bonnies came away with a 73-62 win in front of 6,212 at Alumni Arena. The loss drops the Bulls to 4-3 on the season.

TEMPE, AZ – The University at Buffalo women’s basketball team (4-1, 0-0 MAC) dropped their first game of the season on Saturday afternoon at the Wells Fargo Arena as the Arizona State Sun Devils ran past the Bulls, 76-57. With the loss, Buffalo will take on the UNLV Runnin Rebels tomorrow at 2:00 pm inside the Wells Fargo Arena.

BUFFALO, NY – The defending Mid-American Conference champion University at Buffalo women’s basketball team has been picked to finish second in the MAC East division, as announced by the league on Thursday afternoon. The Bulls earned three first-place votes in the preseason Coaches’ Poll while also earning one vote to win the regular season championship and one vote to win the conference tournament.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team (7-7-5, 4-4-3 MAC) was able to clinch their third straight trip to the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon as they handed the Akron Zips a 1-0 defeat at UB Stadium. The Bulls totally controlled the tempo of the match as Celina Carrero netted the game-winner, her first this season.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team will look to lock up a Mid-American Conference Tournament spot on Thursday afternoon at 12:00 pm as they welcome the Akron Zips to UB Stadium in both teams regular season finale. With a win or a draw, the Bulls will secure their third straight trip to the conference tournament.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team hits the water again on Friday, October 28th. The Bulls will be traveling to Pittsburgh, PA for a 5:00 pm meet. Last Saturday, the Bulls were visited by the Cornell Bears in a non-scoring match. The Bulls performance proved that this will be an exciting season.

BUFFALO, NY – University at Buffalo’s men’s and women’s cross country teams are getting ready to compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday, October 29th in Kent, OH. Both teams are looking to improve on last year’s results. In 2015, the men took away a sixth place finish while the women took home a fifth place finish.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women’s soccer team (6-7-5, 3-4-3 MAC) played to their third straight draw on Senior Day at UB Stadium on Sunday. The Bulls and Central Michigan CHippewas drew even, 1-1. Carissima Cutrona netted the lone UB goal as she has now notched a team-high 10 goals on the year.

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team had their first meet of the season on Saturday against the Cornell Bears. The event was a non-scoring meet, but Buffalo proved an impressive showing in both the pool and the diving well.

Turnovers cost the University at Buffalo football team in a 44-7 loss to Northern Illinois at Huskie Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Huskies were able to capitalize on Buffalo’s four first-half turnovers to build a 31-7 lead at the half and never looked back. It was a disappointing afternoon for a team that had prided itself on taking care of the football – committing only three turnovers in the previous five games.

Freshman Hao Sheng Koay had an impressive day on Saturday as he picked up a pair of singles victories to move into the round of 16 at the ITA Northeast Regionals. Koay also joined teammate Ethan Nittolo in doubles and moved into the round of 16 there as well.

BUFFALO, NY – Senior captain Russell Cicerone continued his home prowess on Friday night as he buried the game-tying goal with under a minute remaining in regulation to help lead the University at Buffalo men’s soccer team (9-3-2, 1-1-1 MAC) to a 1-1 draw with Western Michigan. With his game-tying goal, Cicerone now has 12 goals on the year and he notched his 101st career point, becoming just the second UB player and third in MAC history to do so.
