University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, men's basketball junior Justin Moss received honorable mention honors on the Associated Press All-America Team, announced by the AP on Monday. Moss becomes the fourth UB player since 2005 to garner All-American honors.

MUNCIE, IN – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York baseball team (6-14, 2-4 MAC) dropped their rubber match against Ball State on Sunday afternoon on the road by the score of 16-8. For the second straight weekend, the Bulls lost a MAC series, 2-1. The win gives Ball State a record of 18-8 overall and a 5-1 MAC record.

The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, softball team was swept in its MAC-opening series on Sunday as Kent State defeated the Bulls, 6-4 and 7-3. The games were originally scheduled to be played at Nan Harvey Field, but were moved to Kent State due to unplayable field conditions at home. Despite playing at Kent, UB was the home team in each game.

CAMBRIDGE, MA – The University at Buffalo, State University of New York men's tennis team concluded non-conference play Saturday against 33rd-ranked Harvard at the Murr Tennis Center. The Crimson (13-5) defeated the Bulls (8-7), 6-1.

MUNCIE, IN – Returning to the lineup after a 13 game absence, sophomore Vinny Mallaro notched his first homer of the season and finished with a season-best four RBI’s in game two as he led the Bulls to a 9-1 victory. UB (5-13, 2-3 MAC) dropped the opening game of the doubleheader to the Ball State Cardinals by the score of 6-4.

The men placed first out of 15 teams with 209 points, while the women placed third out of 16 with 103 points.

Junior Justin Moss has been named a finalist for the Lou Henson award, which is given to the nation’s top mid-major player. Moss is one of 31 players named a finalist, including one of just three players from the Mid-American Conference.

The first football practice under new head coach Lance Leipold kicked off the spring practice period on Wednesday afternoon at the ADPRO Sports Training Center in Orchard Park, NY. It was the first of 15 practices that will culminate with the Blue-White Game on April 18. "It's very exciting for our players," Leipold said. "They went through all the conditioning, they've gone through the transition. I know our coaches were excited to get out and work with these guys." Excitement was the word echoed by players and coaches alike following the first day of practice. The team, which practiced in just helmets and shorts, ran through each drill with quick pace and tempo.

Due to unplayable field conditions at Nan Harvey Field, UB's conference-opening weekend against the Kent State Golden Flashes has been moved to the Diamond at Dix in Kent, OH. The series will be played as a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon beginning at 12:00 pm.

Nick Sinay led the Bulls going 3-for-5 with one RBI and two stolen bases.

WESTFIELD, IN – The University at Buffalo, The State University of New York baseball team (3-12, 0-2 MAC) dropped both games of their conference opening doubleheader against the Northern Illinois Huskies on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls fell 3-1 in game one and 3-2 in game two. With the losses, the Bulls drop to 3-12 overall and 0-2 in Mid-American Conference action.

The Mountaineers (19-14) capitalized on a hot-shooting first half to defeat the Bulls (19-13), 81-64.
