Jog for the Jake

6th Annual 5K Road Race and Kid’s Fun Run - June 21,2009 at Delaware Park

A Father’s Day Tradition

Linda Yalem Safety Run

Become part of a Father’s Day tradition in Buffalo by celebrating the family and taking part in the Jog For the Jake 5K. Supporting research initiatives and patient care programs at the Jacobs Neurological Institute (JNI) of the University at Buffalo, the event honors Lawrence D. Jacobs, M.D., a professor and physician, world-renowned for his advances in research and treatment of multiple sclerosis.

In the past five years, the Jog for the Jake 5k and kids’ fun run has raised more than $610,000 to help support neurological conditions researched and treated at the JNI including multiple sclerosis (MS), epilepsy, stroke, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease.

Fun for the Entire Family

In addition to the 5k run around Delaware Park, the event features several family activities on the Nicholas School Campus including:

  • kids’ dash with individual t-shirts and chocolate medals
  • bounce houses
  • children’s art activities by the Albright Knox Art Gallery
  • animal ambassadors from the Buffalo Zoo
  • music
  • lunch
  • and so much more
