The Student Systems Assessment project is part of the larger
UB2020 IT Transformation initiative, which has bold objectives that
aspire to address key academic support issues for specific areas
identified by previous UB2020 Strategic Transformation Teams. A
desired outcome for all of the projects is to obtain flexibilities,
economies and efficiencies for the campus that lead to University
excellence.
One of the main steps in the project process is to review
current practices, looking for opportunities for improvement and
strengths for retention. The project team has been working with
Moran Technology Consulting to conduct this exercise through a
series of workshops with representatives from units across campus.
From the first series of workshops, which wrapped up on May 24,
Moran has put together documentation of business processes and
ideas for improvement. These documents will inform the development
of system requirements, and they will also serve as guides during
the implementation phase.
During a second series of workshops, the documents will be
reviewed by the workshop participants and edited so that they are
accurate and new improvement opportunities can be included.
Although it is not possible to invite the entire campus to the
workshop sessions, your feedback on these documents is welcome. The
drafts are available below. Please review any of the topics that
are of interest to you, and provide us with your feedback by
Friday, June 8. Feedback can be sent to Kara Saunders, Student
Systems Assessment Project Manager, at kcs23@buffalo.edu or
645-6003.
