identities; and the cultural and historical dynamics of the
Atlantic world.

technologies, ideas, capital, and commodities on contemporary
intellectual life, societies, cultural and literary practices.
Building upon a long tradition of excellence in this field, UB
scholars are deeply engaged in the interpretive and creative arts.
Looking at texts through the lens of race, class, and/or gender,
scholars in this Strength continue to explore how meaning is
constructed both in the past and in today's world.
