Research fostered by the UB 2020 Civic Engagement and Public
Policy Research Initiative.
CEPP’s Research Fellowship program began as a pilot
program in the spring of 2009 and became a staple feature of
CEPP’s support for community-based research. The academic
outcomes of CEPP’s research fellowships are as varied as the
projects CEPP has funded, including exhibitions and documentaries
as well as publications and presentations. In the sections below,
organized by the year of fellowship, we present a first glimpse of
the benefits of supporting community-based research used to study
issues of social justice and public policy from our research
fellows. The substantial output of our funded faculty underscores
the benefits of having a group on campus fostering this type of
interdisciplinary community engaged research.
