Supporting Strategic, Large Scale, Multi-Investigator, Cross-Disciplinary, Research Proposals at UB

Services available to assist major research teams with multi-investigator, cross-disciplinary proposals include:

  • Careful review and understanding of all RFPs, RFAs, PA’s and other funding opportunity announcements.
  • Participation in proposal development meetings with the Principal Investigator(s) and their major research or administrative teams to help refine and articulate project goals.
  • Work with the Principal Investigator to create a proposal outline and timeline for the accomplishment of proposal tasks.
  • Provide relevant standard text describing UB’s resources and facilities.
  • Review budget and budget justification in collaboration with UB Sponsored Projects Services.
  • Technical review and editing of proposals for clarity and formatting according to funding agency guidelines.
  • Assist in securing and formatting required proposal documents, including biographical sketches, current and pending funding, data management plans, letters of support, training records, etc.
  • Assist in outreach to other university departments and external partners as required for proposal submission.
  • Assist in organizing workshops and seminars to advance planning for future proposals.
  • Maintain a “library” of information available to UB’s research community, such as samples of data management plans, mentoring plans, and others.
