  1. Merge Grants and Contracts Administration and Sponsored Programs Administration
  2. Have the new organization report jointly to the VP Research and the EVP Finance and Operations
  3. Create three life cycle teams aligned to PI’s needs — supported by a central office
  4. Initial implementation phase, locate all teams in the same location —
  5. Add a training function to the new organization
  6. Immediately engage in detailed implementation planning
  7. Engage the staffs of the merging organizations in implementation planning
  8. Complete the merger by Mid November 2005
