- Have the new organization report jointly to the VP Research and the EVP Finance and Operations
- Create three life cycle teams aligned to PI’s needs — supported by a central office
- Initial implementation phase, locate all teams in the same location —
- Add a training function to the new organization
- Immediately engage in detailed implementation planning
- Engage the staffs of the merging organizations in implementation planning
- Complete the merger by Mid November 2005
