HR Service Delivery Team

Charge

  • Create three divisional HR units supporting the three mission critical areas of the university: academic affairs, student affairs, and business affairs.
  • The plan will include a detailed description of the organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, staffing levels, competencies, tools, systems, measures, and processes necessary to build and operate each divisional HR unit.
  • The plan will also include a sequenced set of activities necessary to consolidate existing HR services into the divisional HR units.
  • The sub-team will also work closely with HR leadership to develop a plan and related processes necessary for staffing the new units.

Progress through January 2006

  • distinguished between roles to be performed by divisional HR units and those to be performed by organizational/decanal units
  • examined volume and other metrics to determine staffing levels
  • created job descriptions and classifications for the positions in the divisional HR units
  • began to identify space/resources needed for divisional HR units
  • created a communication plan for the campus on the transition to divisional HR
  • will make recommendations to the UB 2020 Executive Committee shortly to move from implementation planning to implementation.
