Process Design and Technology Integration Team

Charge

• Streamline processes and work flows that will enable the HR service delivery model as proposed by the HR Strategic Transformation Team.
• Streamline processes. 
• Create process diagrams and other tools to define and test redesigned processes. 
• Evaluate and assess the functionality, benefits, and costs of technologies that can support the streamlining and automation of various HR processes. 
• Give considerable focus to streamlining and automating existing processes required to administer Personnel Transaction Forms (PTF’s) and those processes necessary to collect and administer employee time and attendance information. 
• Design solutions and create recommendations that are consistent with longer term campus and SUNY technology investments, initiatives, strategies, and objectives.

Progress through January 2006

The Process Design and Technology Integration Team has focused its efforts on the following projects:

• Online employment and position tracking system – Efforts were focused on the industry leader – PeopleAdmin.  PeopleAdmin is designed for the higher education market and is used by over 225 colleges and universities, including five SUNY campuses.  This solution will be presented to the Executive Committee, and if approved, will move to implementation in Spring 2006.
• Time and attendance tracking – The team researched time and attendance tracking software.  Three vendors were selected for formal presentations.  The team will evaluate the vendors and make a recommendation to the Executive Committee when the evaluation process is complete.
• Automation of the Personnel Transaction Form – The team developed a model for electronic processing of personnel actions based on the organizational structure defined by the HR Transformation Team.  A technical team will further define the deliverables and estimate the completion date.  Once approved by the Executive Committee, the process to design the electronic form will begin.
