UB will be one university on three campuses: better places,
better connected and better equipped to support the work of
discovery.
The campus master plan features a comprehensive ensemble of
projects, policies and programs to make our campuses more beautiful
and sociable, to connect them to each other and the community, and
to support the fundamental work of teaching, learning and
research.
We will highlight the character of each campus, create more
magnetic public spaces, do a better job taking care of the campus
“public realm” and revitalize campus landscapes. All of
UB’s campuses need to be more comfortable, more inviting and
truly more lovable.
We will better connect our campuses, creating new physical links
to adjacent neighborhoods; broadening the options for
transportation to, from, and between our campuses; and making sure
that campus design, place-names and signage all support easy
way-finding.
The plan includes new mixed-use spaces to promote
interdisciplinary research, technology-equipped classrooms and a
network of informal learning spaces to support the tendency of
students to learn everywhere, and better facilities for dining,
residence, athletics, recreation, arts and culture to enrich campus
life.
