The UB Alumni Association will present a symposium on personalized medicine (genomics) and how it affects our lives.  Norma Nowak, PhD '86, MS '80, executive director of UB's New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences is the keynote speaker.  A UB professor of biochemistry, Nowak’s research contributed to the Human Genome Project and genomic-based approaches to inheritable disorders and cancer.

"There is no better remedy for anxiety and stress than the friendly face of a therapy dog," says Pamela Rose, coordinator of web services and library promotion for the Health Sciences Library. Rose hosts therapy dogs during Stress Relief Days at the UB libraries; she and her dog, Sophia, also volunteer with several therapy dog groups.

Come learn how therapy dogs help relieve anxiety and stress. Therapy dog(s) will be on hand after the luncheon so you can experience it firsthand!

Come be a part of UB's oldest homecoming tradition, SA's Homecoming Carnival.  Free to all, our carnival features live entertainment, free rides, games, prizes, food and a great time for everyone. Rain or shine, the carnival will leave you ready to cheer on the Bulls to victory on Saturday!  After the carnival ends at 9 p.m., join us at the lake shore for the UB Pep Rally, giant bonfire and fireworks display.

Cornhole Competition

Tennis Courts Behind Alumni Arena

The UB Athletics Department has teamed with the Buffalo City Mission in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for largest cornhole tournament prior to the Bulls' homecoming football game against Bowling Green on Saturday, October 3!  

The cost is only $15 per person and will include a general admission ticket to the UB football game vs. Bowling Green. The winners of the tournament will receive a trophy and a UB Bulls cornhole set. In addition, each participant will get a chance to break the world record for longest cornhole shot made which is currently 110 feet.

The event will help bring awareness to the Buffalo City Mission's Women and Children's program.

KC and the Sunshine Band

Game Day Experience with KC & the Sunshine Band

You don't want to miss the UB Football Game Day Experience happening on UB's North Campus and Homecoming is no exception! Stampede Square is the destination for pregame tailgating for UB fans! Two hours before game time help the players, coaches and cheerleaders get psyched to beat Bowling Green as they head into the stadium during the Walk to Victory, accompanied by the Thunder of the East marching band. Then boogie down with KC & the Sunshine Band, featuring hits like "That's the Way (I Like It)," "Get Down Tonight" and "Boogie Shoes," during the pregame tailgate concert.

Celebrate UB’s Homecoming in Stampede Square, the family–friendly destination for tailgating, before the Bulls play their first MAC game of the season. Feast on tailgate fare and enjoy an open bar offering beer and wine while grooving to the sounds of legendary music icons, KC & the Sunshine Band. The Homecoming tailgate tent party is sponsored by the UB Alumni Association, the School of Management, the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the School of Public Health and Health Professions.

The UB Confucius Institute presents a concert by acclaimed professors and graduate students from China's Central Conservatory of Music. The musicians will perform contemporary compositions and ancient Chinese songs, with some well-known pieces from Europe and North America included in the program.  Whether you are completely new to Chinese music or a life-long fan, you are sure to enjoy this memorable evening of music from China.

Free and open to the public.

Lehrer Dance Company

Buffalo's internationally touring professional dance company kicks off the season with a stunning concert showcasing the company's trademark blend of artistry and athleticism. Now in its 9th year, Lehrer Dance plans a special evening featuring audience favorites and three world premieres including a live performance with popular band 10,000 Maniacs.

Tickets are $31.50 general, $13.50 for students.
