Kristin Gniazdowski recipient of 2019 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service

Kristin Gniazdowski, associate dean for resource management and unit business officer, has been selected to receive a 2019 State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service.

The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service recognizes consistently superior individuals who transcend the normal definition of excellence by repeatedly seeking to improve themselves, their campuses, and ultimately, the State University.

“Ms. Gniazdowski’s ability to develop and lead the school-wide budget process, multi-year fiscal planning, and other key forecasting efforts have positively positioned the school, providing us with both short- and long-term stability,” says James M. O’Donnell, PhD, dean, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Gniazdowski began her tenure at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2000 as the director of resource management. In her current role, Gniazdowski guides and directs all school-based resources to provide a sustained solid foundation for our successful academic and research programs.  She has worked tirelessly to leverage a wide range of financial and facilities based resources to position the school as a campus and SUNY leader.

Gniazdowski is involved in various university committees, including the Policy Review Group, Unit Business Officers, Enrollment and Resource Planning Committee and the Financial Advisory Committee. She is also involved nationally with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, where she is a member of the Executive Committee for the Administrative and Financial Officer Special Interest Group, responsible for lending guidance and direction to academic financial policies impacting pharmacy schools across the nation.

For over 130 years, the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has continually been a leader in the education of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, renowned for innovation in clinical practice and research.
