UB Sustainability has an opening for a student with an interest in educational programming, working with young people, and renewable energy. The REV Community Engagement Student Assistant is tasked with making connections to organizations working with youth in the WNY community and delivering workshops, lectures and tours specifically about clean, renewable energy (on and off campus). Much of this position involves working directly in local schools and afterschool programs. We are looking for someone that can provide mentorship and encouragement to the diverse groups of young people they will be working with.
Students should apply by January 31st.
UB Sustainability has a staff of trained students that visit local schools to provide supplemental sustainability activities.
We have a collection of curriculum such as building wind turbines, designing solar power cars, using food as a battery and many others.
We've also partnered with the school of Engineering to host a Sustainability Camp for 8th and 9th graders.
UB Sustainability has a library of lesson plans for any educator to access.
