AlcoholEDU and Haven

All new students must complete certain health and safety courses, including AlcoholEdu (designed to reduce at-risk drinking behavior) and Haven and Haven Plus (which help promote healthy behaviors and prevent sexual assault and relationship violence). You take these courses online, starting before you arrive at UB.

When you’re taking the course, you can click on the “Technical Help” button located on every screen, or view our troubleshooting guide.

Remove a Hold on Your Account

If you have not completed your AlcoholEdu or Haven requirements, you may have a hold on your account. A hold — also called a service indicator — may prevent you from registering for classes, receiving grades, and getting official documents. You can review your holds at the HUB Student Center via MyUB, where you will see detailed information about the hold, including steps for resolving it.

If you have completed one of these courses already — either at UB or at another institution — please contact Wellness Education Services to remove the hold on your account. If you completed the course at another institution, you will need to provide documentation.
