University Council Representative

The University Council serves as the primary oversight and advisory board to the University at Buffalo and its president and senior officers. 

Duties

This student representative sits on a 10-member board (the others are appointed by the governor of the State of New York) and serves as the voice for all UB students. The regular duties of the University Council include:

  • Reviewing the university’s major plans and activities in the areas of academics, student life, finances, and building and grounds
  • Making recommendations to benefit the university in matters of community and alumni relations

Election Information

University Council Representative elections take place each year in March. Information about how to run for this position will be available in February 2023.
