Wellness Grant

Does your student group have an idea for a program to promote healthy lifestyles, prevent suicide or reduce harmful behaviors such as high-risk drinking? If so, your organization may be eligible for grant money to design a program for students.

Who is Eligible

In order to be eligible for a Wellness Grant:

  • Your student organization must be registered and in good standing
  • The program must promote wellness in at least one of the following areas: Social, Intellectual, Spiritual, Physical, Emotional or Occupational

Policies and Guidelines

  • Grant awards may not be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco products, drugs or energy drinks
  • Events where alcohol, drugs, tobacco and energy drinks will be served are not eligible for grant awards
  • Programming that excludes individuals on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity or religion, or are discriminatory in any way, are not eligible for grant awards
  • The amount funded may be less than the amount requested
  • A program report must be returned within one week of the program; failure to return the report will result in the organization not being considered for future funding
  • Checks must be cashed within 90 days of being issued; no checks will be reissued if they are lost

How to Apply

Applications are accepted year-round, but must be submitted at least one month prior to the program date. You can apply for a Wellness Grant through UBLinked.

Offered by Counseling, Health and Wellness Services

Wellness Grants are offered by Counseling, Health and Wellness Services, which is part of Student Life.

The mental health counselors, medical providers and health educators at Counseling, Health, and Wellness Education Services work together to promote student success and wellness. The team offers a variety of quality services and programs focused on physical health, emotional health and health promotion.
