As the fall 2021 semester approaches, we want to remind UB students of these critical aspects of your student account. We suggest that all students review and take action on these, if appropriate. If you have questions, please feel free to contact UB Student Accounts.

Paying your Bill

The first eBill notification for fall 2021 semester was emailed to students July 26, 2021. The amount due must be paid in full by August 25, 2021  to avoid a late payment fee.* Please check your UB email for this notification.

*Unless you are enrolled in a payment plan

Methods of Payment

Online payment (Credit Card or eCheck) is UB’s preferred payment method. Here are acceptable forms of payment:

·         Online: by credit card, eCheck or international wire transfer

·         Mail: by check or money order - P.O. Box 10068, Albany, NY  12201-5068

·         College Savings Plan (NY 529): via ACH directly to UB through Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC).

·         Payment Plan: in 3, 4 or 5 installments

Cashless Payment

Students are asked to pay online, through QuikPay (in your HUB Student Center).

·         When paying online, payments are posted to the student account in real-time. The university does not charge a convenience fee for payments made with a credit card, debit card or eCheck.

UB’s Payment Plan

UB offers the option to pay in 3, 4 or 5 installments. Consider enrolling in a payment plan to make it easier to pay your bill.

Authorize Disclosure and Payment

Authorize UB Student Accounts to Discuss Your Information

UB Student Accounts is prohibited by FERPA guidelines from disclosing any student account information to anyone (including your parents), except you. To provide you with the best customer service, you may authorize UB Student Accounts to discuss your student account with parents or others by completing the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Information Disclosure Consent form(UBIT name and password required).

Authorize Other Payers

You may designate parents and others to make online payments to your account by creating an Authorized Payer account online.

·         Authorized Payers will receive notifications about bills and will be able to access your bill information online. Having an authorized payer will also serve as a limited FERPA release, allowing UB Student Accounts’ staff to discuss only your student account information with that individual.

·         Once you create an Authorized Payer account, your authorized payer will receive an email from QuikPay with a link to log in.

Student Health Insurance

Most UB students are required to carry health insurance coverage for the duration of their academic registration at UB. Many students are unaware that they are automatically enrolled in and charged for UB Student Health Insurance, unless they waive it.

·         If you are already insured on your parents’ or other insurance plan, you can waive UB Student Health Insurance here:

o   Domestic students

o   International students

o   Students studying abroad

·         Deadline to waive Student Health Insurance for fall 2021 semester is Oct. 13, 2021.

·         If insurance premiums remain on your student account past the bill due date, you will be charged a late fee.

Financial Aid

We know many of our students and UB families have experienced financial hardship due to the pandemic, and UB Financial Aid advisors are available to help you explore options that may be available.

HEERF Grant

Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grant funding may be available to UB students who qualify. For information regarding eligibility and how to apply, visit UB Financial Aid’s COVID-19 website.
