Dean of the School of Public Health and Health Professions
Search Announcement

I am pleased to announce the initiation of a national search for the Dean of the University at Buffalo School of Public Health and Health Professions. We plan to recruit an individual with stellar academic credentials who will lead the ongoing initiatives of the faculty of the school to move its programs into the top tier. At my request, the following individuals have kindly agreed to serve on the search committee.

To facilitate a successful outcome to our search, we have secured the services of Dr. Ilene Nagel of Russell Reynolds Associates. Dr. Nagel is a former Professor of Law at Indiana University. She has also served in university leadership positions, most recently as the Executive Vice Chancellor at the University of California Santa Barbara. Dr. Nagel is very familiar with the University at Buffalo, having assisted with other dean searches including the dean of the School of Nursing. I have every confidence that she will help us to attract an excellent candidate.
Shortly, Dean Buchanan will convene the search committee to develop the search process and appropriate timetable, and to begin to solicit for nominations. I am sure we will attract a large number of excellent candidates, and I look forward to the committee’s recommendations.
