BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Rina Das Eiden, PhD, senior research scientist in the University at Buffalo Research Institute on Addictions, has been recognized for her scientific accomplishments with an invitation to serve on a National Institutes of Health review panel.

Eiden will serve as a member of the Psychosocial Development, Risk and Prevention Study Section for the NIH’s Center for Scientific Review.

In this role, she will review grant applications submitted to the NIH, make recommendations on the applications to the appropriate NIH national advisory council or board and survey the status of research in their fields of science.

“An appointment such as this is an honor and is a testament to a researcher’s scholarly impact,” said Kenneth Leonard, RIA director. “Dr. Eiden is very deserving of such recognition due to her significant research on how alcohol, tobacco and illicit drug use among parents impact infant and child development.”
