PROGRAM

Jeff Lawrence Manufacturing Innovation Fund. (Find full details here.)

OBJECTIVES

The Manufacturing Innovation Fund supports a set of activities designed to spur technology development and commercialization across New York State, including Manufacturing Innovation Grants. FuzeHub accepts Manufacturing Innovation Grant applications on a quarterly basis. Award sizes range from $25,000 to $75,000.

The number of awards made may vary by quarter depending on other uses of the fund and the quality of applications received.  Applicant teams involving industry partners with 50 or more employees are required to contribute a match, with at least 50% of the match in the form of cash equity.

The Manufacturing Innovation Grants are intended to offset the costs of assisting companies with the following types of projects:

  • Prototype development
  • Proof-of-concept manufacturing
  • Manufacturing-related equipment purchases
  • Manufacturing scale-up
  • Market identification
  • Other projects to advance manufacturing or manufacturing capabilities

Project must be clearly defined and ready to be undertaken. Projects must be completed within two years of an award, and smaller projects may require earlier completion.

ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

UB may submit three (3) applications per deadline as long as they originate from different departments or centers.
