Vice President Venu Govindaraju Invites You to Attend

As the calendar turns to the start of a new school year, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development would like to invite you to participate in a series of town hall-style meetings aimed at building on existing strengths and improving the research environment at the University at Buffalo.  At these meetings, you will have the opportunity to meet with me and members of my staff, hear about current research initiatives, and share your views with me and the rest of the research community.

We will hold three meetings in the fall semester:

  • Human Research Protection Program and the IRB review process:  Thursday, September, 17, 2015 - 4:00 PM at the CTRC (875 Ellicott Street) Room 5019 A&B, Downtown Campus;
  • Getting new sponsored funding and building collaborative teams:  Tuesday, October 20, 2015 – 4:00 PM in 443 Kapoor Hall, South Campus;
  • Technology transfer, licensing of IP, industry engagement and starting a company:  Thursday, November 12, 2015 – 4:00 PM in Davis 101 (Agrusa Auditorium), North Campus.

We will provide a light dinner at each meeting.  Seating is limited, so please RSVP to slboldt@buffalo.edu or call 716-645-3321with the number of attendees and which meeting you plan to attend.

We also plan to hold a series of three town-hall meetings in the spring semester to discuss other topics of interest to the research community.  We welcome suggestions from you on those topics.

In advance of these town-hall meetings, we invite you to share your thoughts on UB’s research environment. This is a team effort – as we strive to assist our world-class faculty excel in research, we need ideas and suggestions on how the entire community can make UB an even better place to do research.
