AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

American Indian health and wellness, disparities in health care, health policy, aging

Margaret Moss can speak to the media about the challenges and disparities faced by American Indian populations in gaining access to adequate health care and education.

Moss’ research focuses on health disparities, health policy and aging in American Indians. Also a member of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, she is the author of “American Indian Health and Nursing,” the nation’s first nursing textbook that focuses exclusively on the United States’ Native population.

In her role with the UB School of Nursing, she works to improve access for underrepresented minorities; establish a pipeline of diverse faculty, staff and students; and identify gaps in school diversity-related policies and procedures.
