Faculty members will be able to submit their final grades for their students online this semester at http://myub.buffalo.edu/webgrd/.
Faculty members can use their UB IT names and passwords to access their courses. Grades can be hand-entered or instructors can use the grade drop-down boxes provided.
Additionally, faculty members who record their grades in an Excel file will be able to upload the grades to the Web. They also will be able to download the grades submitted from the Web for recording into their own electronic files.
Faculty members who choose to designate alternate graders, such as TAs and support staff, can do so easily with a special facility at the Web-grading site.
While Records and Registration will continue to send the Grade Collection Forms-grade bubble sheets-to the departments this semester, faculty members are encouraged to use Web grading. Those who use the Web-grading site will be able to evaluate it after submitting their final grades. Comments received will be considered in future enhancements.
Faculty members who use Web grading need not complete or submit the Grade Collection Forms. When instructors submit the grades via the Web, the grades are loaded directly into the students' transcript records that evening. Students can call BIRD the next day to hear their grades.
Records and Registration will send to the faculty, in the Grade Collection Form packet, a flyer announcing Web grading. Shortly thereafter, each instructor will receive a brochure describing the process and announcing a Records and Registration Web site that will display the steps used in submitting final grades on the Web. These instructions also will be located on the Web-grading site.
Any questions regarding Web grading can be directed to registrar@sfr.buffalo.edu.
