Inflatable sculpture in Lightwell

Takashi Murakami's "Mr. Dobb" is a 40-foot-high inflatable sculpture commissioned for the Lightwell Gallery and on view there through July 13. The Lightwell Gallery is located within the UB Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday Noon-5 p.m. Free.

By invitation at the Albright-Knox

"In Western New York 1997," the 11th biennial invitational exhibition of work by artists living in the eight counties of Western New York, features work of UB faculty members Adele Henderson and Gary Nickard. Exhibit is on view through July 13 in the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, 1285 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo.

Summer craft workshops

The Creative Craft Center, located in 120 Fillmore in the Ellicott Complex, will offer summer craft workshops beginning the week of July 14. Workshops will be held 7-10 p.m. once a week, except children's classes, which are held on Saturday mornings. Fees are $30 for UB students and $50 for all others. In addition, there will be three one-week workshops, "Creative Kids Art," held from 9 a.m.-Noon Monday-Friday; cost is $70, which includes a $10 material feel For more information, call 645-2434.
