Videoconference to focus on learning and the Web

Millard Fillmore College will sponsor a videoconference, The World Wide Web: Gateway to Effective Learning-Designing and Restructuring Courses for Higher Education, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in 120 Clemens Hall on UB's North Campus.

The videoconference is designed to show participants the strengths and weaknesses of the Web as a learning tool, as well as how to restructure existing course content for the Web and effective course development. The videoconference also will focus on methods for testing and student evaluation, ways in which students use the Web as a communication medium, royalty-free resources for faculty use, tools that can be used to build social skills with students and partnering models with museums and other groups.

The live, interactive videoconference is free and open to the UB community. To reserve a seat and a set of conference materials, call Janice in the MFC dean's office, 829-3131.
