Best of the UB Web 1997

The university community is invited to make nominations for the Best of the UB Web competition, which will function as the grand finale of the second annual UB Information Technology (IT) Fair to be held March 19th and 20th in the Natural Sciences Lecture Hall Complex. Surf UBWings (http://wings.buffalo.edu/) and find sites that deserve recognition or nominate your own web handiwork! The only requirements are: nominated sites be affiliated with the University at Buffalo and UB students, staff and faculty nominate a site only once-though multiple site nominations are welcome.

Award categories are numerous and include: Best Overall Awards ("Best Academic Homepage," "Best Administrative Homepage," "Best Faulty Homepage," "Best Student Homepage," "Best Teaching or Instructional Homepage"), Design Awards ("Best Page Design," "Best Logo," "Best Use of Multiple Media," "Best Use of Interaction," "Best Navigation Aid") and Technical Awards ("Most Technical Merit" and "Most Important Service Concept").

For each category there will be one site that receives the award with possible honorable mention citations. The winners will be granted the honor of being allowed to display the Best of the UB Web '97 logo on their site. The winning sites will also be on permanent display on the Best of the Web homepage (http://wings.buffalo.edu/best_web/).

To nominate a site go to the UB IT Fair homepage (http://wings.buffalo.edu/itfair/) and select "Best of the Web Contest." A nomination form that describes the criteria for each category is located there for your convenience. The deadline for nominations is March 1st. The winners will be announced on March 20th at the IT Fair at 3 p.m. All nominated sites will be displayed on the "Best of the Web" homepage at http://wings.buffalo.edu/best_web/current.cgi.
