1996 SEFA campaign very close to goal

Nelson Townsend, UB director of athletics and 1996 SEFA chair, has announced that the university community is nearing its goal in this year's campaign.

According to Townsend, "The United Way knows that it can count on UB. They've already budgeted for us to make our $635,000 goal, and we're almost there. That final 1 percent could make a big difference for many people in Western New York. Making our goal is important to our SEFA beneficiaries, and will be a great moment for all the hardworking volunteers on both campuses who have worked to get the word out about SEFA.

"There are probably people out there who have planned to pledge but haven't yet turned in their SEFA forms. We hope they'll respond soon," he said, "and that we'll be able to bring this year's campaign to a close by reporting another great UB victory for people in our community."
