Art celebrating the sesquicentennial
An exhibition of art by faculty and alumni celebrating the sesquicentennial opens Oct. 4 with a reception from 6-8 p.m. in the University Art Gallery, Center for the Arts, North Campus. The show, which closes Dec. 18, includes work by 17 faculty and 23 alumni. Gallery hours are 10:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, and 12-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Art for sale
Work for sale by faculty artists is on view Oct. 4 through Oct. 22 in the Art Department Gallery located in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. There is an opening reception Oct. 4 from 6-8 p.m. Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

Architecture exhibition
"Projects from Liquid Cities," Mehrdad Hadighi. Sponsored by the School of Architecture and Planning, the exhibition can be seen in the James Dyett Gallery, 334 Hayes Hall on UB's South Campus, through Oct. 5. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Lightwell wall
Leonardo Drew's site-specific installation "No. 45-A" was designed for the Lightwell Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus, and is there through October.

Going downhill and loving it
Schussmeisters Ski Club is accepting new members-students, faculty, staff-until Dec. 6. The club makes regular outings to Kissing Bridge, Holiday Valley, and Tamarack. Information may be obtained by stopping at the club office, 360 Student Union on the North Campus, or by calling 645-3100.

Craft workshops
Knitting, photography, pottery, and stained glass are some of the crafts you'll begin to master by enrolling in workshops offered by the Creative Craft Center beginning the week of Oct. 28. The center is located at 120 Fillmore in the Ellicott Complex on the North Campus. Adult workshops are held one night a week for six weeks. Children's workshops are on Saturday. Fees are $30 for students and $50 for others. For information, call 645-6125 mornings, or 645-2434 afternoons and evenings.
