Fulbright applications are available

Applications for Fulbright grants to conduct research or study abroad are now available for undergraduates who will complete their degree by June 1997 and for graduate students. The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government's premier scholarship program. It provides support in over 100 countries around the world. Professor Barbara Bunker in 362 Park Hall has information and applications (645-3650, X 362). APPLICATIONS MUST BE FILED BY Sept. 26, 1996.

Generally, the requirements are to have an excellent academic record, to have a focused plan for study or research in a particular country, to be a U.S. citizen, and to be able to speak the language of the country to which you are applying at the time of application. Over 50 percent of recent recipients have been students who have just graduated from college.

Graduate students whose doctoral research is in Germany should also apply for the DAAD Fellowship. Professor Georg Iggers has information and applications (645-2181, X 562). APPLICATION DEADLINE is Oct. 1, 1996.
