Tailgate party in UB Stadium
kicks off '96 SEFA campaign

Nelson Townsend, 1996 SEFA Chair and UB director of Athletics, will kick off this year's State Employees Federated Appeal campaign with a tailgate party for SEFA volunteers to be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 in UB Stadium.

The theme for this year's campaign is "Be a Good Sport."

The tailgate party will precede the Bulls football game at 7 p.m. against the University of Connecticut.

As part of the kickoff, New York State Transportation Commissioner and former state senator, John Daly, 1995 Statewide SEFA Chair will present an award to UB President William R. Greiner recognizing UB's strong tradition of giving.

In addition, awards will be presented by 1995 SEFA Chair Frederick Winter, dean of Management, to units who exceeded their goals in the 1995 campaign.

UB is the national leader among universities with 5,000 or more employees when it comes to per-capita giving and participation percentage for United Way campaign giving, according to the latest report prepared by the United Way of America. UB each year conducts its SEFA campaign in conjunction with the annual campaign of the United Way and Erie County.
