UB Sculptors

Opening of faculty and student show, including work in bronze, stone, wood, and fabricated metal, 5-7 p.m. Aug. 31 in the Art Department Gallery located in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Wednesday-Friday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

Continuing Exhibits

John Lekay's sculpture installation "Delires De L'Ange Neutre" is on display through Sept. 17 in the First Floor Gallery of the Center for the Arts, North Campus. The installation consists of 12 demons and an angel, sculpted in paradichlorobenzene and encased in airtight plexiglas boxes. The artist will be present to discuss his work Sept. 7 at 4 p.m., after which there will be a reception. Regular UB Art Gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday 10:30 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Sunday Noon-5 p.m. Admission is free.

"Red Vertical" Still Up

Simon Ungers' site-construction "Red Vertical" remains on view through Dec. 31 in the Lightwell Gallery in the Center for the Arts, North Campus. The piece "explores the interaction between art and architecture."

Attention GAs and TAs!

GSEU Benefits Information/Enrollment Sessions for eligible Graduate Assistants and Teaching Assistants who wish to enroll in the Student Employee Health Plan (SEHP) are being held through Sept. 22. The sessions last about two hours. North Campus sessions in 102 Crofts Hall are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sept. 6, 2 p.m. Sept. 7, 9 a.m. Sept. 14, 1 p.m. Sept. 15, 2 p.m. Sept. 19, 9 a.m. Sept. 20, and 9 a.m. Sept. 22. South Campus sessions in the Lippschutz Room, 125 Cary/Farber/Sherman Hall are scheduled for 9 a.m. Sept. 7 and 9 a.m. Sept. 18. GAs and TAs must show a copy of Appointment Authorization or appointment letter, which must specify amount of stipend, estimated weekly obligation (minimum 10 hours per week), and dates of appointment. Craft Workshops begin

The Creative Craft Center, 120 Fillmore, Ellicott Complex, North Campus, is offering Early Fall '95 Craft Workshops beginning the week of Sept. 11. Children's classes also are offered. For more information, call 645-6125 or 645-2434.

English Language Program

The English Language Institute at UB is offering a part-time, evening English language program designed for international professionals, scholars, students and homemakers whose first language is not English. The following courses are offered: Advanced Communication for the International Professional, Living and Working in English (Intermediate), Accent Reduction Course, TOEFL Preparation Course.
