November 3, 1994: Vol26n9: Nominations sought for Distinguished Service Professor The State University of New York is inviting nominations to the rank of Distinguished Service Professor. This prestigious rank recognizes outstanding service to the campus, State University and beyond. The Distinguished Service Professorship is a rank above full professor. It is a tenured university rank that is conferred only by the State University of New York Board of Trustees to individuals who have attained the rank of full professor and who have completed at least 10 years of full-time service in SUNY. Nominations may arise from faculty, student body and administration. Those presently holding this rank include G. Lester Anderson (Emeritus), Claude Welch, Robert H. Rossberg, Norman Solkoff, James Coover, Dennis Malone, Newton Garver, Kenneth Inada, Virginia Leary, Thomas Headrick and Alan Drinnan. Each nomination should be accompanied by a current curriculum vita of the nominee. Self-nominations are not appropriate. Please send nominations by Dec. 2, 1994 to: Joyce E.
