Reporter Volume 26, No.5 October 6, 1994 A memorial service was held Sept. 28 for W. Donald Leslie, a former Erie County medical director who served as an assistant professor of anatomy at UB for more than 20 years. Leslie, 86, died Sept. 25 in the Erie County Medical Center. After attending Canisius College, Leslie graduated from the University at Buffalo Medical School in 1933. He conducted a private practice for 43 years and served as plant physician for American Optical and Pratt & Letchworth for many years. He became Erie County medical director in 1952, after serving as a welfare medical investigator for the county. He held that position for 20 years, working to promote construction of the Erie County Medical Center. Survivors include two sons, Donald R. of Amherst and William R. of San Diego; three brothers, Dr. John of Merritt Island, Fla., Dr. Eugene of Williamsville and Dr. Malcolm of Los Gatos, Calif.; two sisters, Irene Keiser and June Jemeson, both of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren.
