Reporter Volume 26, No.3 September 22, 1994 WINGS (UB's own Campus Wide Information Service) presents the Electronic Poetry Center, a pioneering effort in the field of poetry and poetics. The Electronic Poetry Center offers a focused, readily accessible selection of poetry and poetics materials. For example, would you like to read the latest poetry appearing in RIF/T (UB's own electronic poetry journal) or read poetry from a number of related electronic poetry journals? How about reading the latest poetics essays such as "I Don't Take Voice Mail" (Charles Bernstein) or "Ohio Zen" (Michael Joyce)? You can even check out the latest reviews of avant-garde poetry in print by looking at selections appearing in TREE: Taproot Electronic Edition, which includes reviews of hundreds of works of new literature (often not reviewed elsewhere). The Electronic Poetry Center is administered by Kenneth Sherwood and Loss Glazier, in collaboration with Charles Bernstein of the UB English Department's Poetics Program. The Center also provides access to: the Poetics Archive (a library of poetic texts not available elsewhere on the Internet), a small press alcove, news of related print sources, and a range of electronic poetry resources on the Net. The Electronic Poetry Center also encourages the UB community to take advantage of the many poetry-related events on campus. For example, it lists the following gala poetry readings to dedicate the new Center for the Arts: Oct. 30 - Robert Creeley, Mac Hammond, Carl Dennis Nov. 6 - Susan Howe, Charles Bernstein, Dennis Tedlock Nov. 13 - Raymond Federman, Irving Feldman, William Sylvester (All readings are at 3 p.m. in CFA 112.) UB E-mail account holders can log on to the Electronic Poetry Center by typing wings at the system prompt. Select "Libraries & Library Resources," then "Electronic Journals," then "E-Journals/Resources Produced Here at UB," then "The Electronic Poetry Center."
